The Legacy Project of Stark was founded in 2015 to bring together and build small group mentoring relationships between fourth and eighth-grade students and members of their community. They believe that developmental relationships promote resiliency, emotional well-being, and the social skills that students need to thrive.
During the 2021-2022 school year, The Legacy Project of Stark will have imPACT Groups in ten Stark County school districts with the goal of mentoring close to 1,500 students. The program will take place during the school day and strives to provide students with a fun, casual environment that promotes a lot of talking and laughing. Louisville Schools is pleased to be chosen for the project. The Legacy Project of Stark curriculum encourages students to make smart decisions, take responsibility for academic performance, and learn positive behavior modifications. In addition, they believe that EVERY student can benefit from having a mentor!
The Legacy Project of Stark is looking for volunteers to serve as mentors. Every Wednesday night at 6:00 pm through August, they will be holding virtual question and answer sessions for those interested in being a part of the program or for those with questions about the school-based mentoring program. Information about the sessions can be found at lpstark.org and can be joined using the link below
