LOUISVILLE MIDDLE SCHOOL EARNS TWO STATE EDUCATION AWARDS
The Ohio State Board of Education has granted Louisville Middle School a 2017-2018 Momentum Award as well as an Overall A Award for student achievement on the school’s 2017-2018 report card.
The Momentum Award is the State Board’s way of recognizing schools that received A’s on every Value-Added measure included on the Ohio School Report Cards. As a Momentum Award winner, Louisville Middle School’s report card demonstrates a committed to students’ success by ensuring students exceeded the growth expectations in English language arts and mathematics. As an Overall A Award winner, Louisville Middle School’s students demonstrated high academic performance on the 2017-2018 report card by earning straight A’s on all of their report card measures.
“Receiving the Momentum and Overal A Awards are the direct result of the hard work and dedication of our teachers, staff, and students,” said Orin. “We couldn’t be more proud to receive these awards and share the good news of the great work happening in our building.”
In a statement announcing the 2018 Momentum Award recipients, State Board of Education President Tess Elshoff says, “The State Board of Education is proud to recognize these students, teachers, administrators, and parents for their accomplishments and I also congratulate you on recruiting and motivating the high-quality leaders and staff needed to make this happen.”
Superintendent Michele Shaffer is proud of the district’s performance. “Louisville Schools continues to make great strides in the education of our students. While the state report card only tells part of the story, it does show that our students continue to grow every year. I am proud of our teachers and staff who show our kids every day that a good education is student-centered. They are innovative in their teaching to engage their students in learning.” Shaffer continued, “I am pleased that the students and staff at LMS have been recognized at the state level for their hard work; I see evidence of this work being done every day in all our buildings.”
In the coming weeks, LMS will receive an official ‘Overall A’ banner and Momentum acknowledgment letter and certificate to display in the school.
